Is our education system truly humane? Children are forced into restrictive environments, stifling their natural curiosity and creativity. Artificial methods have led to neglecting the human element in learning.

Our mission is to reimagine education that elevates the human experience and accelerates learning. We believe education should nurture the whole person – intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

To achieve this, we focus on:

Content development that resonates with human experience

Discovering innovative methods that foster natural learning

Flexible frameworks that support human-centered design

Teacher trainings that empower educators to elevate human experience

Why Surface-Level Approaches Fall Short

Traditional reading programs often focus on surface-level strategies(phonics, read alouds and reader's theatre etc) without addressing the underlying biological and cognitive factors that hinder reading development.

The Power of Digging Deeper

Our research-based initiative takes a pioneering approach by digging deeper to identify and address the root causes of reading difficulties. By exploring the complex interplay between neurodevelopmental factors, cognitive processes, vision, and processing disorders, we can:

- Uncover hidden barriers to reading success

- Develop targeted interventions that address individual needs

- Unlock more effective and sustainable reading improvement

Auditory Processing

"In reality, without effective listening, learning is a matter of chance".

- Swanson

Listening is the first form of communication that children acquire. According to Hyslop and Tone (1988), listening provides a foundation for all aspects of language and cognitive development for life-long learning. While students spend the majority of the school day using listening skills to acquire knowledge, research by Johnson and Smith (2010) suggests that many educators fail to provide formal listening instruction, assuming children inherently know how to listen. This lack of awareness of the listening process may result in lowered achievement and increased frustration. As Swanson (1996, p. 3) notes, "In reality, without effective listening, learning is a matter of chance." The National Listening Association (NLA, 2022) emphasizes the importance of integrating explicit listening instruction into educational curricula across all grade levels.

Listening Skills must be taught:

“Hearing is a sense; listening is a learned behavior that must be nurtured.”

- Hunskar.

The ability to listen effectively affects a student’s achievement in school, and contributes to success later in life. Even though some students master basic listening skills, researchers argue that listening skills must be taught, practiced, and improved (Mead & Rubin, 1985).

Movement and Learning

Children truly want to be “good.” In order to “stay alert” where there has been inadequate vestibular development, they must move, wiggle and constantly turn their heads. Often this is precisely how they first get tagged with the ADD, Hyperactive or ADHD labels. Teachers become frustrated with their constant movement and tell them to “sit still.” Wanting to stay alert, the children’s next strategy is to activate their balance centers by tilting their chairs so that only the back two legs of the chair are supporting them. The teacher’s response is to demand that they “sit up right and pay attention.” But this is a contradiction for these children. If their heads and bodies are still, there will be reduced activation of their brains. These children are also the ones asked to stay in during recess to complete work — when the best thing for them would to go outside and move

Title: Exploring the Interplay of Motor Movement, Cognition and Learning: A Research Exploration Objectives:

Investigate, Identify and implementation of micro-interventions and integrative movements for accelerated Learning outcomes in Regular Schools:

Abstract: This research project explores the intricate relationship between motor movement, cognition, and its impact on learning and understanding. By investigating the connection between these domains, we seek to uncover deeper insights into how physical movements, cognitive processes, and language development interact and influence learning outcomes. This project aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge in this field and provide valuable implications for educational practices.

Expected Outcomes:

• Gain insights into how motor movements contribute to cognitive processes involved in language acquisition.

• Identify the specific role of motor skills in different aspects of language development, including phonological awareness, vocabulary acquisition, and grammar skills.

• Discover the potential benefits of incorporating physical writing, gesture, and embodied learning strategies in language instruction.

• Provide implications for educational practices and interventions to optimize language learning and comprehension through the integration of motor movements and cognitive processes.

Implications and Future Directions:

• Implications for educational practices: Discussing how educators can leverage motor movements to enhance language acquisition, cognition, and learning in instructional settings.

Affective filter - Joyful Focus lowering

Title: Cultivating Joyful Focus: Unlocking Optimal Academic Outcomes

Research Question: How can educational interventions harness the synergy between focus and joy to minimize affective filters, enhance engagement, and optimize academic achievement?

Background: Research suggests that joyful focus, characterized by the convergence of attention and positive emotions, is crucial for optimal learning outcomes. However, traditional educational approaches often prioritize focus over joy, potentially leading to decreased motivation and increased affective filters.

Future Research Directions:

Intervention Design: Develop and evaluate educational interventions that integrate joy-inducing activities with focus-enhancing strategies.

1 Affective Filter Reduction: Examine the impact of joyful focus on reducing anxiety, stress, and other affective filters.

2 Academic Outcomes: Assess the relationship between joyful focus and improved academic achievement, including grades, retention, and transfer of learning.

3 Individual Differences: Explore how personality traits, learning styles, and cultural background influence the effectiveness of joyful focus interventions.

Center for accelerated language Acquisition:

Is learning a journey or a destination?

At center for accelerated language Acquisition (CALA), we believe that true education unfolds when innate curiosity in children is nurtured and transformed into a joyful exploration. And also we believe, Children are not made for serious syllabus completion missions with deadlines.

At center for accelerated language Acquisition (CALA), we reimagine education by putting children at the forefront. By listening attentively to their needs and observing their unique learning patterns, we develop scalable teaching (facilitating) models. This approach has led to the development of innovative techniques in Joyful English, achieving remarkable outcomes.

Our teachers undergo a transformative journey, shifting from instructors to facilitators, prioritizing understanding over instruction.

Once the passion for learning is ignited in teachers and children, they become truly lifelong learners. But how do we ignite this passion?
